IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR!

Summer has flown by fast and it's time to flutter back in to preschool.
Don't forget our open house orientation day is Tuesday, September 7.
We are so excited about our new school year! Classes are really filling quickly. If you know someone who hasn't made their preschool decision yet, have them call soon! :)

DIY Idea: Clever Art Display Wall
Because Montessori stresses the importance of well-maintained and respected materials, the manipulatives you find in our classroom are often expensive--ensuring durability from frequent use. But you don't have to buy the most expensive materials to reproduce the ideas and principles behind the activities in our classroom in your own home. In fact, sometimes we don't need the most expensive materials, either.
Take this simple, clever idea that Mrs. Howard ran across in another Montessori classroom: a static arrangement of inexpensive photo mats (easily found at Walmart, Michaels, etc). Simply rotate your child's art behind the mat to display her work proudly and in a way that's both "intentional and beautiful."

Magnetic Wall from Raising Olives:

So what to do with all that art when it's time to come down? How about a portfolio of carefully-chosen projects to keep?
