We are off to a great start this year! We are beginning to learn many songs, months of the year, days of the week, ABC's, and 123's. We have gone over the letters A and B, and now working on the letter C. We are looking forward to a fun school year!   Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Cacky

     Lakeside Preschool is here to assist in teaching children early fundamental development goals such as attempting to increase the child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our classrooms provide a comfortable place for children to explore and discover new things every day as the staff members share with the children positive attitudes towards school and learning.

A New School Year! 2013-2014

It has been so long since our last post that we thought we would make it easy and share what we have been doing at Lakeside Preschool from the start of the 2013-2014 school year until now. We have had an excellent start to the new school year!

The children have talked, watched and explored the change in our seasons from summer to fall. From apples in September to pumpkins throughout October, the works in the classrooms are always changing! Using their arm and hand as the tree trunk, we used toilet paper rolls dipped in paint to make the leaves on our fall trees.

Our first field trip has already come and gone. We enjoyed the hayride, feeding the farm animals and picking out the perfect pumpkin at Deans Farm Market in Wilson! Thank you to all who made our trip so enjoyable.

Here are some pictures from our drive in movie where the children got to eat snack in their very own cars that they made! This has been one of our favorite activities so far. From painting the exterior of the banana box, making license plates, painting the wheels and steering wheels, everyone worked really hard to get them done. A big thanks to all the parents who helped out in the classrooms those two weeks! We would not have been able to do it without your help. What a blast!

Field Trip! Strawberry City

This spring we're working on showing the kids how things grow and the classroom is full of spring things for the kids to discover - bugs, plants, and fresh air.  Spring wouldn't be complete without a trip to a strawberry patch.  We're thankful for the folks at Strawberry City for their hospitality - a lesson about strawberries, time to pick, and an ice cream finish!
